Blackpink Wins All Three Nominated Categories In People’s Choice Awards 2019

With the winnings that Blackpink made, they are becoming the first female K-pop group to top the list of People’s Choice Awards 2019 music categories.

Despite the huge wins for the group, die-hard fans of BTS called BTS Army fuming on Twitter after BTS lost Group of 2019 award to Blackpink.

It marks another historic achievement for Blackpink. The world-famous female K-pop group took home ‘The Group of 2019’, ‘The Music Video of 2019’ (with “Kill This Love”) and ‘The Concert Tour of 2019’.

CL, a group member of Blackpink was announced as the winner of The Most Inspiring Asian Woman of 2019. The nominees were Alia Bhatt from India, Zhou Dong Yu from China, Raline Shah from Indonesia, Chutimon Cheungcharoensukying and Praya Lundberg from Thailand, Yuna from Malaysia, and Jung Yu Mi from Korea.

However, the People’s Choice Awards that was held at Barker Hangar, Santa Monica, California on November 10 has left the BTS Army heartbroken after their favorite band, BTS did not win an award even though fans asserting that they were leading with a high number of votes.

Due to the winning of Blackpink for Group of 2019, BTS Army is livid with the decision. On Twitter, some of the fans even tweeted, “They totally used BTS for views and wouldn’t even give them the awards that they won. I’m pissed.”

Some fans claiming People’s Choice Awards had played dirty by only putting BTS on the nomination categories for grabbing fans’ attention only but in the end will not let them win.

“How come @BTS_twt didn’t win? We won on votes. How come? @peopleschoice you did dirty for our boys!!!” – another fan tweeted angrily about the losing of BTS to Blackpink.

Some also claimed that it was all rigged. One fan tweeted “This was a fucking joke. BTS was leading but didn’t win a single award? Care to explain? The show was rigged and y’all look like clowns.”

BTS has been nominated in the same categories as Blackpink which is Group of 2019, Music Video of 2019, and Concert Tour of 2019, unfortunately, Blackpink has taken home all of the three categories trophies.

The famous Korea boy band, however, didn’t show up at the award show because they just wrapped up their Love Yourself: Speak Yourself World Tour in Seoul, Korea just a few weeks ago. After their extended break, BTS resumed their world tour in October and performed in Saudi Arabia and Korea.

The tour just ended, and according to reports from Korea, the band is probably on a break after their tiring hectic world tour and most of the fans hoping that they will come back with a new album.
